FAQs - Yoga

1. What should I bring to a yoga class?

Bring a yoga mat, water and an open mind. We do have mats available for purchase at the studio.

2. What should I wear to class?

Your comfort is paramount. Wear comfortable clothing that is suitable for exercise. No shoes required!

3. Do I need to sign up for classes in advance?

No. You are welcome to drop in for any class. If you would like to call or e-mail us in advance, you are certainly welcome to do that too.

4. Can I eat before I practice yoga?

It is best to practice on an empty stomach. Try not to eat for the two hours prior to class. If you need to eat before class, have something light like a fruit or yogurt.

5. What if I am not flexible?

ANYONE can do yoga. Even if you cannot touch your toes or stand on your head, you can do yoga. No matter your age, shape or size, you can do yoga. If you are recovering from an injury, you can do yoga. The instructor will offer modifications to make the postures safe and accessible to all students. When in doubt, consult your physician.

6. What should I expect when I show up for my first class?

Plan to arrive 10 to 15 minutes early to fill out a few forms. You will be greeted by the instructor. Be sure to tell the instructor about any injuries or physical conditions you may have. Leave your belongings in the back of the studio space, set up your mat in the front, and prepare yourself for an hour of exploration.
